The 2020 Volkl Kendo 88 Skis are a re-vamped model for this year, and the changes are all fantastic. Based on the success of the past year’s M5 Mantra, the Kendo has received the same treatment. In the most basic sense, it’s back to its original 88 mm underfoot width, and it now has Titanal Frame Construction, like the Mantra and Secret. This new Kendo is lighter and snappier while remaining as stout and stable at speed as ever. Thanks to the shape, profile, and construction of the 2020 Volkl Kendo 88 skis, all-mountain front-side skiers will have found their perfect tools. At 88 underfoot, the skis are a shade narrower than in year’s past. This will give you a bit better carving control as well as increased torsional stiffness. What you lose in width for the flotation aspect, you make up for it with the Titanal Frame Construction that puts the second layer of metal over the edges while making the ski light and easy. It’s a more user-friendly ski than in year’s past, but more skiers will be able to enjoy the all-mountain versatility of the 2020 Volkl Kendo 88. Mogul and tree skiers will love the edge to edge quickness of the narrower ski, and with a rounded-off tail, the exit of the turn is fun and smooth. By utilizing a rocker/camber/rocker profile, the 2020 Volkl Kendo 88 is fun in the soft snow and serious on the hard snow. This dual-personality of the ski is ideal for advanced and expert level skiers who are looking to push both boundaries and speed limits.
