Moment 2023 Commander 98 skis

For us, wide open groomers are like a full moon, summoning the inner speed demon. So we built a ski you can drive- and we mean REALLY bend a shovel on – but still toss off into the chop and humble bystanders with your crud-busting prowess.

A European beech core, two sheets of titanal, full width metal over full height, race-style sidewall underfoot provide unparalleled connection to the snow, maximum driving power and more quickness edge to edge than we have ever deemed reasonable. Throw a flatter tail, rearward mount and dual radius side cut into the mix and it’s a whole new animal.

The Commander will charge anything – crud, corn, bumps and groomers. You can lay trenches like a ditch witch but still crush the rest of the mountain without fearing for life and ligaments.

That doesn’t mean you’ll get your ass spanked if you so much as flinch – it will slip, slash and pivot to your heart’s content.  As you aren’t afraid to keep your foot on the gas, it will never hold you back

FRONT ROCKER

Rocker at the tip, camber underfoot, and a slight bit of tail rise provides a directional feel while maintaining the ability to slash and slide.

INGREDIENTS

 

POPLAR/BEECH CORE

Full length, knot free, vertically laminated in house. Strong, damp and burly, European beech provides the pinnacle of composure and calmness at the highest speeds in the most challenging conditions.

ABS SIDEWALLS

Extruded sidewalls constructed of modified Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) provide stiffness, dampening, and durability, which allow for more impact resistance and easier repairs that stay put so you can bring the abuse year after year, season after season.

METAL LAYUP

Modified Carbon Fiber Hybrid Composite Structure to compliment the characteristics of two sheets of Titanal metal laminates and stiffer wood cores for increased dampening and faster response.

TEXTURED NYLON TOPSHEET

We use a textured nylon topsheet material enhanced with sublimated graphics‒a non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to silkscreen. We chose this topsheet material to ensure optimal durability and impact resistance while maintaining crisp and bright graphics.

7500 CARBON SERIES BASE

Skis are tools not treasures and that means they need to take a beating which is why use carbon infused sintered UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene). Harder, faster and with better wax absorption and retention than extruded bases this is the industry leader for performance and longevity.

VDS DAMPENING

Rubberized VDS foil is placed at strategic locations throughout the construction to increase bond strength and provide vibration damping for more stability and increased control.

2.2MM EURO EDGE

There are only a handful of edge manufacturers in the world. We go straight to the source for the best of the best. We use only 2.2mm Rockwell 48 hardened steel edges. Heat treated additionally in house to ensure you get nothing but the absolute most out of your skis.
